Identify the venue’s capsule system before choosing a conference blend: pods for Nespresso Original, Vertuo, Lavazza BLUE, Dolce Gusto and Tassimo are not interchangeable choices. For mixed preferences, plan a clearly labelled everyday coffee, a stronger option and decaf where the installed system offers them. If you are arranging repeat service rather than using an existing machine, Lavazza UK positions BLUE as an office system and lists capsules in packs of 100; check the machine, quantities and serving plan together.
Check whether the venue has Original or Vertuo equipment before planning the menu. Nespresso UK describes Original as an espresso and classic-coffee system and Vertuo as a route with several cup sizes; each takes its own capsules.
If conferences are a regular fixture, consider the machine, capsule format and replenishment arrangement together. Lavazza UK positions BLUE for small-business use and lists office capsules in packs of 100.
A short, labelled menu can distinguish an everyday coffee, a stronger espresso and decaf without making guests guess from blend names. Nespresso UK and Lavazza UK list these choices in particular capsule ranges, so select them within the venue’s actual machine system.
Start with the installed machine, then choose cup styles and blends before calculating how many compatible pods the event needs.
| Priority | What to check | Your needs |
|---|---|---|
| Machine compatibility | Read the machine model and the pod pack’s system designation. Nespresso UK distinguishes Original from Vertuo; Tesco Groceries lists Dolce Gusto-, Tassimo- and other compatible pods in separate categories. | I need pods that will work in the machines already at the venue, rather than choosing a blend that cannot be served. |
| Cup style | Check whether the planned service calls for espresso, lungo or larger coffees. Nespresso UK lists espresso and lungo options for Original and several cup sizes for Vertuo. | If guests expect longer coffees, I want the machine and pods to provide the intended serving style. |
| Blend choice | Compare the stated coffee style and intensity within the compatible range; add a clearly identified decaf if required. Lavazza UK lists Original-compatible blends at several intensities, including decaf. | A labelled everyday choice and a distinct stronger option would make the menu easier to navigate than one intense espresso alone. |
| Event quantity | Compare pack counts with planned drinks and the break schedule. Lavazza UK lists BLUE office capsules in packs of 100; check current delivery arrangements and keep a compatible reserve. | I need enough pods on site before guests arrive, with a workable plan if the first supply runs short. |
| Allergen information | Check the ingredients and allergen information for each drink component, particularly milk-based or flavoured products. The Food Standards Agency says UK food businesses must provide allergen information for prepacked and non-prepacked food and drink. | If I am supplying refreshments, guests need access to information for the drinks actually served, not just for a plain-coffee pod. |
A coffee can sound suitable for the menu but be unusable in the venue machine. Nespresso UK specifies separate Original and Vertuo capsules, and Tesco Groceries separates several other pod systems.
Check the machine model and the pack’s compatibility statement. Test a pack in the actual machine before ordering the event quantity.
Espresso, lungo, decaf and different intensities serve different drink preferences. Nespresso UK and Lavazza UK list these as distinct options within their ranges.
Label an everyday coffee, a stronger choice and decaf where compatible options are available. Show guests which pods are intended for shorter or longer drinks.
Milk-based and flavoured drinks may involve different ingredients from a plain-coffee pod. The Food Standards Agency says UK food businesses must provide allergen information for both prepacked and non-prepacked food and drink.
Keep the exact packaging or product information for everything served, and make the relevant allergen details accessible at the serving point.
A delivery estimate does not ensure that compatible pods will be at the venue before a scheduled break. Nespresso UK lists standard delivery as 2–3 working days under its service terms.
Check the current terms when ordering, arrange delivery ahead of the event and set aside an unopened compatible reserve.
Lavazza UK presents BLUE as an office capsule system and separately sells capsules labelled compatible with Nespresso Original machines.
Nespresso UK distinguishes Original for espresso and classic coffees from Vertuo, which offers several cup sizes.
Dolce Gusto is a separate pod route to consider when the venue already uses a compatible machine.
Tassimo is another installed-machine route, separate from the Nespresso and Dolce Gusto pod categories shown by Tesco Groceries.
Tesco Groceries organises its coffee pod categories by compatibility, which can help identify the right type of pack.
These options span Nespresso-related, Dolce Gusto and Tassimo pods. Choose within the venue’s confirmed machine system; the stronger Ristretto, everyday espresso and decaf options here are not all interchangeable.

A short, stronger coffee option for a menu using a compatible Nespresso Original machine; it need not be the event’s only blend.
Lavazza UK lists this Original-compatible blend at intensity 12/13. The product name specifies 10 cases of 10 capsules; check the quantity against planned demand.

A Blonde Roast option to consider when planning a contrasting coffee choice for the venue’s Nespresso service.
The pack contains 10 capsules. Check its stated machine compatibility and order enough packs for the event; choose a separately labelled product if decaf is required.

An espresso choice for a Nespresso Original-compatible menu when a different stated intensity from Ristretto is useful.
Lavazza UK lists Qualità Oro at intensity 8/13 in its Original-compatible range. The pack name specifies 10 capsules; check the serving style and total quantity needed.

A decaf Americano option for a conference venue using a compatible Dolce Gusto machine, not a substitute for pods made for other systems.
The product name specifies 16 capsules and 128 g. Check how many packs the planned service requires.

An Americano option to consider when the venue uses a Tassimo machine; it is not a pod choice for the other systems on this page.
The product name specifies 16 pods of 8 g each. Confirm the machine model and the number of packs needed for the event.
Identify the machine’s exact capsule system and check that designation on each pack before ordering. Nespresso UK says Original and Vertuo use their respective capsules, while Tesco Groceries lists Dolce Gusto-, Tassimo- and other compatible pods separately. A familiar brand or blend name alone does not establish compatibility.
Start with a clearly labelled everyday coffee, then consider a stronger option and decaf within the same compatible system. Nespresso UK lists espresso, lungo and decaf choices, and Lavazza UK lists Original-compatible blends at different intensities. Check the intended cup style as well as the blend name.
Do not treat the two capsule ranges as interchangeable. Lavazza UK describes BLUE as its office capsule system and labels its other compatible range specifically for Nespresso Original machines. Match the pack to the BLUE machine manual before ordering for that setup.
Allow time beyond the supplier’s stated delivery window and arrange a compatible reserve before the event. Nespresso UK lists standard delivery as 2–3 working days and a minimum of 50 pods for coffee delivery orders; check the terms at checkout rather than treating that window as an event guarantee.
If you are the food business operator supplying the refreshments, the Food Standards Agency says allergen information must be provided for both prepacked and non-prepacked food and drink. Check the actual pods and any milk, flavourings or other ingredients used, then make the relevant information available to guests.
