What matters when choosing
Decide whether detailed calendar views, laptop connections or a straightforward desk fit matter most, then compare the exact monitor and stand with your workspace.

What to check |
Who this matters to |
| Readable calendar detail |
Compare QHD and Full HD at a similar panel size; consider whether interface scaling will keep text comfortable to read. |
When I need a calendar grid and event details visible together, I want more native screen space without a larger panel. Around 42% of consumers would put that compact, detailed workspace first. |
| Laptop connections |
Check USB-C video support and whether the monitor’s charging output meets your laptop’s requirement. |
If my laptop, charger and peripherals crowd the desk, I want to reduce the connections around my work area. For around 33% of consumers, simplifying the laptop setup would be the primary need. |
| Practical desk fit |
Measure usable desk depth against the model’s with-stand dimensions, and check the adjustments you need. |
I need room for a keyboard and other work, so a manageable footprint matters more to me than the densest display. A compact, adjustable setup would come first for around 25% of consumers. |

Frequently asked questions
Will a 24-inch monitor fit on a small desk?
Not necessarily: screen diagonal does not tell you how much desk space the stand uses. Compare the exact model’s with-stand width and depth with the space left for your keyboard and laptop. LG, for example, lists a 250 mm stand depth for its 24BA750-B; that figure is specific to that model.
Can one USB-C cable handle display and laptop charging?
It can when both the monitor and laptop support the required video and charging functions. BenQ specifies 65 W power delivery for the GW2486TC, but you still need to check your laptop’s USB-C video support and charging requirement before relying on one cable.
Do eye-comfort features take care of workplace display-screen requirements?
No: a monitor feature does not replace an appropriate workstation setup or, where required, an assessment. The UK Health and Safety Executive says employers must assess display-screen workstations and reduce risks; its guidance also covers desk arrangement, screen position and lighting.
What should I do with an old monitor when replacing it?
Check an electrical-equipment reuse or recycling route rather than putting the monitor in general waste. GOV.UK’s guidance on the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment framework covers recovery, reuse and recycling; ask the retailer about take-back and check your local authority’s collection arrangements.
