Magnetic Mounting: If you are using an iPhone 15/16 series phone, place the phone in the included magnetic silicone case, and then attach the ES4 portable SSD directly to the back of the case. If your phone already has a case, use the included magnetic ring to stick to the back of the case, and then attach the hard drive for use.Important: This product does not support MagSafe wireless charging. Do not use it with MagSafe chargers.

Device Connection: Select the appropriate cable based on your device’s port type. For Type-C devices, use a USB-C to USB-C cable. For devices with a traditional USB-A port, use a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Initial Use & Formatting: When connecting the drive for the first time, it may need to be formatted. Choose a compatible file system (e.g., exFAT for cross-platform use) based on your operating system (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, etc.). Ensure no important data is present on the drive before formatting, as formatting will erase all existing data.

Enable Data Encryption: To protect your files, install and activate the Lexar DataShield encryption software, set a password, and select the area to be encrypted, enabling 256-bit AES hardware-level encryption protection.

Eject Safely: Always perform a safe eject in the operating system before disconnecting the hard drive from the device to avoid data transmission interruptions, which could cause file damage or hard drive failure.
